Additional Information

Commercial RYA qualifications are the preferred qualification requirements and are recognized around the world. However, the South African Maritime Authority (SAMSA) doesn’t recognize the RYA qualifications if they are obtained in South Africa.

It is therefore imperative that to captain a ship in SA waters that you obtain your SAS qualifications.

We can arrange for you to take SAS examinations. We also offer coaching for the SAS theory modules. If you wish to do commercial work in South Africa, then you will have to do a SAMSA Under 25-ton Commercial License Examination. We can assist you in obtaining the certificate.
